Skin Testing

Skin testing involves placing 46 different allergens on the skin with a testing device. After the test processes for 17 minutes, we measure the wheal/reaction site to determine the level/grade of reaction. Greater wheal sizes indicate stronger allergic reactions to a particular allergen.

The skin test is normally conducted on your back. This skin testing process is NOT painful due to the fact that the device used for testing just irritates the skin. The pool of allergen sits on the irritated area to process.

Blood Testing

This is known as RAST testing. It is even more thorough than skin testing one's back, but it is more costly. This is the process that is utilized to test for food allergy/sensitivity.

What do you test for?

We typically test for pollen, mold, danders, and food.
